Substances such as lemon juice orange juice and wine can cause your marble to etch. Burns are physical damage to the marble countertop itself and not a stain that has absorbed into the pores. The surface is sanded incredibly smooth and coated with a special gel finish that is durable and waterproof. The easiest way to remove a burn in a cultured marble vanity top is to use 400 grit wet dry sand paper on a sanding block in circular motions until the stain is gone.

They re not super bad. Wet a piece of 1 000 to 2 000 grit wet dry sandpaper. The surface is susceptible to scratching burns and is affected by some chemicals. I ve got some stains in this cultured marble counter top. Etch marks are the result of the top layer of the marble wearing away due to the stain. Cultured marble is a composite product of actual stone dust mixed with a binding product.

Bleach will also corrode etch marble. Burn marks on marble can sometimes be scrubbed away with bathroom cleaner and a brush or a solution of bleach and water. The look of cultured marble makes it look like you spent a fortune. But they are there.

The nice thing about cultured marble is it is all the same material all they way through.
